Islam and Armageddon

Islam and Armageddon is not a "run-of-the-mill" work on biblical prophecy that presupposes that biblical prophecy must be understood the way the best-selling Left Behind series or Hal Lindsay's earlier books articulate the topic. Nor is it a bashing of Islam. Islam and Armageddon is a ground-breaking original work by a scholar of ancient history and Semitic languages that offers some intriguing (and, to some, startling) interpretations of the biblical prophecies that pertain to the nations of the Old Testament world that are now predominantly Islamic. One of the major features of the book is Heiser's exposure of passages in the Qur'an that agree with the Jewish Torah that the land of Palestine belongs to the Jews as God's chosen people. Despite the apparent hopelessness of the Middle East situation, Heiser argues that Jews and Arab Muslims, the two lines of Abraham, will come together in fulfillment of both Old Testament and Qur'anic prophecies. This event will set the stage for Armageddon, a battle that will involve the Israel, their Arab brethren, militant Muslim enemies, and the Antichrist.
